He was born in 1961 Yechon in Gyeongsangbuk-do State. Received Creative Writing bachelor’s degree at Wonkwang University and received post graduate education at Dankuk University from the same department. In 1984 he took his first step in the world of literature receiving the poetry award at Donga Newspaper Spring Literature Contest. Do-hyun received numerous awards including Poetry and Poetika Young Poet Award, Sowol Poetry Literature Award, Nojak Literature Award, İsu Literature Award, Yun Dongju Award and Baeksok Award and is a professor at Halen Usok University Creative Writing Department.
