Born in London in 1981, Hancox writes on music, popular culture and politics in The Guardian, The New Statesman, Independent, Five Dials, Prospect, Q Magazine, Frieze, New Inquiry, Dazed&Confused, Mute, Wire and National. He coauthored My Fellow Americans (2008) with Tom Humberstone. He was the editor of Fight Back! A Reader on the Winter of Protest (2011). His other works are Kettled Youth: The Battle Against the Neoliberal Endgame (2011), Utopia and the Valley of Tears: A Journey Through the Spanish Crisis (2012) and Stand Up Tall: Dizzee Rascal and the Birth of Grime (2013).
