Monika Rinck lives in Berlin. She received science of religion, general and comparative literature and German philology at Bochum, Berlin and New Haven Yale University. Since 1989 her works have been published by various publishing companies. In spring 2012, her first poetry book called Honigprotokolle (Honey Protocol) published by Kookbooks won Peter Huchel Reward. In spring 2015 her satire titled Risiko&Idiotie (Risk and Idiocy) was published from the same publisher. Monika Rinck is a member of International PEN Club, LyrikknappschaftSchöneberg, Berlin Art Academy and German Language and Poetry Academy. Monika Rinck received Kleist Award in 2015 and Ernst Jandl Award in 2017. In 2017 she was the curator of Poetica Festival in Cologne. Rinck is making translations from Hungarian together with OrsolyaKalász; appears in joint projects with musicians and composers and from time to time she gives lectures at University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Her book Kritik Der Motorkraft (Criticizing Engine Power) will be published shortly by Brüterich publications.
