RAGNHEIÐUR HARPA LEIFSDÓTTIR
Harpa is a writer and performance artist based in Reykjavík, Iceland. Since graduating from the Arts Academy in Iceland in 2011 Harpa has been working in the field of performance, theater, writing and installation. Now pursing a master in Creative Writing she has immersed herself in working with text. Her background in performance has great affect on her writing as music is an essential part of her creation.
Harpa has published short stories and poetry. Her radio play, Peacocks of the Arctic was premiered on National Radio. In 2016 she was nominated for her piece, Song of Cranes for the National Performance Awards. Her performances have premiered in festivals in Iceland, Denmark and Finland. For her writing is a way of seeing, of being conscious of the shifts of the world, an attempt to understand humanity in it’s complex beauty.
