Bilgi Publishing Former journalist and literary aficionado Ahmet Tevfik Küflü established Bilgi Bookstore on Sakarya Street-Ankara in 1956. Before long, the bookstore became a frequent destination for the authors, poets, art lovers and book lovers of the time, and a landmark as one of the art and culture spots of Ankara. Nine years after the bookstore s opening, Bilgi Publishing was founded in 1965. To further and support this step, Bilgi Distribution was founded in 1972 with the purpose of distributing books country wide. Since its establishment, Bilgi Publishing has played an active role in publishing market with its dignified editors or advisors such as Cevdet Kudret, Attilâ İlhan, İlhami Soysal, Turgut Özakman and became the first publisher of many valuable authors and books. In time, alongside literary fiction, Bilgi has established a significant place in the areas of social sciences, recent history, and contemporary politics with non-fiction books. With the motto, A society without children readers, will not have adult readers as well in mind, in early 1990s, Bilgi started to publish children s books and brought children and Türkiye s most read authors together. In light of the technological developments in the publishing industry, the publishing house has prioritized audiobook and ebook markets in recent years. Bilgi Publishing has published thousands of books over the course of half a century and still continues on this path with the excitement of offering new books to readers while combining many years of experience in publishing with a contemporary point of view that meets the needs of the present day.
